On prices and other useful stuff.

The first answer is $2800, (that's the beginning of wonderful, creative, and personal wedding photography). You can add in albums from $1800. Our albums are all custom printed and artworked.
We use Queensberry for their premium international albums. They are a New Zealand company that works hard to keep us happy so that we can give you their best.

The second answer is, there are many ways to pay for it, but we are no longer accepting goats as payment. We will, however, accept Mastercard, Visa, Monthly payment plans, and Cheques.

We photograph people. And we are great with people who think they aren't photogenic.

These are just the beginnings of what we can do, and of course we love for you to go crazy with your choices, which is why we need to get together for a chat about making what we do personal to you.

This is the thing. We want your photography to be personal.
To do that we need you to consider what it is that you will bring to your photography session.
For portraits we can tell you to shy away from heavy patterns and branding on clothes .... but that might be who you are, so even though photographically it is better to keep things simple, sometimes the statement you want to make will override the need for simplicity.
We want your photographs to be an expression of who you are.
We can tell you we only photograph happy people .... but try and tell that to a three month old who really puts feeding before happiness.

Our portraits start at $250 but you get your first print in that price ... and every now and then we run a special ... its true!
Why do we charge $250.... because it can take over an hour to photograph you (unless you are in a hurry).... We want to give you our best ... we need you to understand that our best is worth something. ... we don't want you to use us because we are cheap ... we want you to use us because you absolutely must have an image created by Johannes van Kan or Jo Grams .... At the same time we want your business.

We sell photography vouchers and Cherish boxes... they are the coolest gifts.

We print on canvas, photographic papers, and on art media ... because not every client is the same (thankfully!)
Our work is custom printed ..... because it matters.
Our photography is an experience ... yours!
We produce amazing slide shows of your imagery .... these start at $1200.

We travel ..... especially to exotic locations and have photographed weddings and portraits in Miami, Malaysia, London, Fiji, Arles, Colorado, Barcelona, Melbourne, Sydney, Queenstown, Nelson, Auckland, Vanuatu, Perth, Brisbane, and the West Coast.
We sometimes work together .... and then sometimes we don't ... that's up to you.

We want you to tell us what you want to do .... because it matters .... although sometimes we will do it differently .... because that is why you came to us in the first place .... because you want something that is different.

Our ears are not painted on .... we want to hear your thoughts.

If you want to guarantee an award winning image from your shoot there is a $150,000 surcharge ... however, if you are happy to take your chances the surcharge does not apply. We are always up for the challenge ... and in fact thrive on challenges.

We have a very cool studio ... well worth the trip to Lyttelton. ... actually if you come over you will quickly understand that we do not have the outdoor space to be accepting goats.
